Villains at the Lair ~ Atompunk - A Space Age Incursion

Villains at the Lair ~ Atom Punk - A Space Age Incursion

 This is Rose Teathyme

Space suite, nasty (and useful) aliens, blaster weapons and mighty rocket ships!Atomic Era. Join Rose Teathyme, Nathanial Blackheart, Johan Von Kripplor, Cheryl Keech and bring your raygun.

Our organization's rift in time will take us into the atomic age. A future-past where atom powered cars abound and everyone wears silver space suits and carries a ray gun. This aesthetic was all the rage during our race for space and in TV shows and movies of the late 50's and early 60's. Dress in your favorite space suite and be prepared to help us plunder the era for all the fun we can gather. There will, of course, be a costume contest.

Approximately every 4th Friday of the Month, The League of Proper Villains will be holding a themed meeting at our Villains Lair, The Other Office. This is our chance to travel through Time and Place, come dressed to impress. You are charged to invite all Villains, Henchmen and general ne'er-do-wells to join us. Minions welcome.

 Dr. Evil P.J. Party

It's sleepytime for Villains. World domination is tiring, and both villains and minions need a good night's sleep. Dress up in your most evil sleepwear and accessories. Keep it PG please. We have little villains among us. Come dream with us of world domination! And yes, There will be a costume contest.

Nathaniel Blackheart:

I've had several people ask me about costumes for the PJ party. Really, any sort of PJ's or loungewear should work - Evil or Cute. I would imagine that any Villain bent on world domination has had a bit of an unusual childhood and still harbors some level of insecurities. Dressing evil is their standard, but when it's time for bed they still cuddle up with their favorite blankie or stuffed animal. No doubt an Evil stuffed animal. Smoking jackets, silk or Asian robes, perhaps an evil cartoon character, or the costume parts of some superhero that they bested. The minions of the Villain are often caught when the plans of their master go awry, so they may be used to sleeping in something from one of their many incarcerations. And yes, I know the most purely evil among you sleep in nothing at all, but that is not a costume. Perhaps the evil inventor falls asleep in their evil inventor wear, exhausted from a long day of being diabolical.

The idea behind these events is to challenge your skills and imagination. You can put gears or goggles on anything and call it Steampunk. Steampunk is fantastic and is at the core of what we do. But thinking outside of the box is rewarding and exciting to see and share.

 Admission Free! Donations Welcome

 Director: Helen Dahlberg

 About the Play:

Measure for Measure is a peculiar Shakespearean comedy in that its ultimate success depends not on the vigor with which it tickles the funny bone, but rather the way it manages to tickle the brain as well. The premise is relatively simple. Sometime long ago in Vienna, though it hardly matters where or when, a duke decides to leave his territory under the rule of the morally constipated Angelo. The freshly power-whipped Angelo makes fornication punishable by death. When the law claims its first victim, the victim’s sister entreats Angelo to spare her brother. The ruler then decides to fornicate with her. All the while and unbeknownst to any, Duke Vincentio has, in the guise of a friar, returned to watch and, more often than not, influence the lives, loves and laws at stake in an almost sick game of puppeteering. Here Shakespeare leaves the tone open for interpretation; the duke, acting as the proverbial hand of fate in his friar dress, can be seen as a prankster serving up trouble for his own entertainment or as a teacher of the dangers of meddling power (from a review by Trevor Pendras, reporter).

2nd Annual Zombies Have More Fun ~ Villain Invasion of the TFO Zombie Walk

This is Rose Teathyme,

Join us for the Villain Invasion of the TFO Zombie Walk

This will be our 2nd Annual Zombies Have More Fun Event.

This year we have a very busy October schedule so we will be joining the Pirates of Sacramento, Sac Geeks, fellow Zombie lovers in Sacramento for a Villain Invasion of the TFO Zombie Walk.

Please hold a place in your calendar for this Saturday Night event. We are still waiting for details from the event organizers. We believe the event will begin at 8PM. If any of you need help to Zombiefy yourself please read the update below.

Make-up & Prep session /pre-Zombie Walk gathering for Pirates, Villains, Thorians and Sac Geeks at the lobby and patio of the ESRI Building at 1600 K St. (a brown stucco bulding with red bricks, wood slats and glass walls right on the corner of 16th & K St., with entrance on K St.). The patio area will be available for ripping, "bloodying-up" and dirtying up clothes starting at 5:30 pm, and the lobby will be available for applying make-up around 7 pm until 9 pm. (The actual Walk currently slated to start at 10 pm but it's subject to change). Indoor make-up application is first come first serve, as there is a capacity limit for the lobby, and as time allows, so it's recommended you come early! If you are driving, it's recommended that you give yourself time to circle around to carefully explore parking options as there is a mix of garage, lot and street parking of various price structures, time limits and availabilities. Or even better, carpool or bike. If you can spare make-up, fake blood, or props or old rippable clothes or rags to share, those items would be appreciated. Please wear clothes that you don't mind being dirtied up with fake blood and makeup. Please apply fake blood outside, none will be allowed in the lobby. We will have a handful of volunteer makeup artists on hand to help and welcome others!

Please let me know who can assist with make-up and who will need help. Evangeline's in Old Sac has a nice supply of make-up for all your Zombie needs.

Application of Zombie make-up by volunteers will be available but not elaborate.

2nd Annual Villains Take Over the Night ~ Dinner and Dancing

1116 15th St Sacramento, CA 95814

This is Rose Teathyme. We have recently received a very faint transmission from beyond... we believe Madame Mulla is attempting to communicate with this dimension after being lost from time and space.

"Dearest Villains, in honor of our fallen comrades, myself included, put on your dancing shoes, take a trip through time and place and join your fellow Villains in a celebration of the macabre and gothic, Vampires, all of you who prefer the dark side. Come dressed in your finest Black ready to Kill." Madame Mulla......

Rose here again. It is clear Madame has requested that we meet for a 2nd Annual Villains Take Over the Night ~ Dance event. What better way to fufill that request than to Invade our local Goth Club for an evening of dark music, dancing and delights. Exemplary costumes will be rewarded.

The Asylum (located in the Park Lounge) opens at 9 PM and there is a small cover charge. Parking is located in the lot next to the entry. Address: 1116 15th St Sacramento, CA 95814

So as not to exclude members unable to stay out late due to work commitments on Monday morning, we will meet early for dinner, prior to going to the Asylum, 6:30 PM at de Vere's Irish Pub on 1531 L Street Sacramento, CA 95814

The event location will be updated to reflect where we choose to eat dinner at.

This event replaces our regular 4th Friday of August event. We will meet again for Gold Rush Days on Labor Day Weekend.

The League of Proper Villains 2nd Annual Invasion of Old Sacramento Gold Rush Days

This is Rose Teathyme

Once again the Villains have decided to crash a very popular annual event -- Old Sacramento Gold Rush Days. We are posting this event early to give you time to prepare for a massive invasion. We will be attending both Friday night festivities and Saturday afternoon. We will once again coordinate our efforts with the Sacramento Steampunk Society, to make this an excellent meeting for all.

Our goal is to give some of our out of town members a chance to visit us in Sacramento.

At this event, we will be amongst period-costumed individuals. To set us apart, we will have to wear our Steampunk Finest. Bring any, and all, gadgets and rayguns. Think 'Wild Wild West' meets the Gold Rush.

We'll invade several locations as a group and do photo shoots. We'll use our regular hideout - The Other Office, as our base of so you will not be lost in the crowd. This allows us a cool place to eat and drink during the festivities of the Saturday afternoon portion of our event. Let's take Gold Rush Days by storm!

Schedule is subject to change. Please set the weekend aside. Updates to come. We will let you know about specifics when Gold Rush Days website releases details.

 Cheers! Rose

The Villains have decided to add an invasion to the Great Basin Costume Society's 2nd Annual Victorian Steampunk Ball!

So many of us have decided to attend the official event that the League thought it should become a formal invasion.

In addition to the ball many other options for entertainment will be organized earlier in the day. We will take a group consensus and plan accordingly. Therefore the event will be updated when we know what additional activities the group would like to participate in.

Villains Invasion ~ 20th Anniversary CELEBRATION of the Folsom Renaissance Faire

Folsom City Lions Park , 403 Stafford Street, Folsom, CA 95630

Join the Villains for a spectacular away event, the 20th Anniversary CELEBRATION of the Folsom Renaissance Faire.!

Visiting the Folsom Renaissance Faire is becoming an annual tradition for the League. This will be our 3rd year visiting the event as a group.

Get away from it all and lose yourself in the magic and merriment of the Renaissance. Rub elbows with nobility, pirates, barbarians and beautiful ladies, the rising young star of London's theater scene, Will Shakespeare, faces a scourge like no other: a paralyzing bout of writers block while the great Elizabethan age of entertainment unfolds around him. Will is without inspiration on material. What Will needs is a muse and in an extraordinary town whilst on progress with Her Most Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, he finds himself surrounded by numerous quirky characters who draw him into an amazing, dramatic adventure of action and love. Their stories make their way into his plays and into our hearts. The theme of the Faire is Shakespeare's Muse.

Over October 20th and 21st, the Folsom City Lions Park will be transformed to a delightful Elizabethan town filled with myriad characters and vignettes resembling those of Shakespeare's plays we so dearly love. In addition, over 900 costumed entertainers and over 100 shopkeepers and artisans will add to the ambiance of the Faire. The Festival will be the ultimate Renaissance bash, a lively Dionysian party, where the guests enjoy turkey legs, exotic food, and drink as they banter with the myriad performers filling the streets. The event sports one-of-a-kind shows, music, and comedy.

 Villains Impromptu Secret Invasion

You Must Ask A Fellow Villain That Knows

This is Rose Teathyme. As part of our "Villains Invade the World" Event Series 2 ~ The 3rd Annual Villain Apocalypse, it is only fitting for the Villains to invade someone else's event. We have added this event to cap our series and extend the season's fun.

This is a secret invasion by the League of a non League event. You must plot, plan, bribe, do what ever you require to find out where this invasion will take place and what we are invading. This will require communicating with your fellow Villains to get the clues you need to participate in this event. I guarantee that you will have a smashing time if you decide to attend.

"There are evil plots to be hatched and twisted deeds to be done!"

 Muwahahahaha.....yours Rose Teathyme

Villains Special Event ~ Fire Arms and Finery Workshop

Come join the Villains for a fun day of modding and creating. We will be working on Gun Mods, and Steampunk Jewelry. Please RSVP to this event as soon as possible so that we know what supplies we will need to collect for you. This workshop will be a great place to create a wonderful holiday gift for your special someone, for yourself or someone who has yet to acquire the extra bits and bobs they would like to deck themselves out with. We may add another project opportunity according to your interests and the availability of our guest artists that have agreed to help us with this workshop.

I know you have lots to do on the weekends but this is such a good reason to visit your fellow Villains and get in the mood for some great fall and winter fun.

We will have both a custom jewelry kit for you to work on and we will prime some toy guns for you to mod. We suggest that you provide your own paints and bits and bobs to add to your firearm.

We will have a maximum of 20 jewelry kits available (we are creating them especially for you with specific League goodies for you to use.) Pre-primed guns will be available on a first come first serve basis. Let us know if you have a gun you would like to mod but need to prime for painting. I need a list of who would like to would like to do what.

There will be a small materials fee collected for the workshop at the time of the event. More specifics will follow on the workshop wall.

If you would like a list of specific materials you may want to collect for yourself to have the beginning of a good stash to do this mod workshop with and for your future projects, we can provide one for you depending on what your area of interest is.

Villains Secret Meeting: Third Annual Putt Putt of DOOOOOOM and Thanksgiving Dinner

Greetings my Villainous Darlings...BREAKING NEWS from Penny Dreadfulle....reporting from an undisclosed location...

For the last two years, the League of Proper Villains has held an incredibly popular event at Monster Mini Golf, and now the League will return once again to this hallowed ground of black lights and monsters for another evening of great conversation, fun folks, golf, and, as an added bonus, Thanksgiving dinner at the Spaghetti Factory!

12401 Folsom Blvd (in the Nimbus Winery, next to The Old Spaghetti Factory) Rancho Cordova, CA

http://monsterminigolf.com/fran-ca-rancho/index.html.

We shall invade the golf course for Weird Wednesday, which is 18 holes of mini golf for a mere $6.00 per person, and dine afterward at the Spaghetti Factory. Bring your best putting skills and your appetite!

Approximately every 2nd Wednesday of the Month, The League of Proper Villains will be holding a "Secret Meeting" at various pubs and restaurants in the greater Sacramento Area. This is the Villains chance to meet in a casual setting, enjoy each others company, dress in Steamy Fashion or not depending on what you feel like.

Suggestions of pubs and restaurants are welcome. Help us find great local places that have good happy hour food and drink menus. We would like a chance to visit different locations, to make it easier for more of you to attend meetings.

Signing Off For Now...Penelope Dreadfulle, star reporter for the Blackfriars Courant.

 Siege of the Dickens Faire

Greetings My Villainous Darlings!

This is Penelope Dreadfulle Reporting from an Undisclosed Location. Since its creation at the hands of the lovely and devious Ms. Rose Teathyme, I have made great use of the Through Time Traveler's Coat (and my time traveler's pocket watch). Along with the Dr. Blackheart's research on the Physician's Miraculous time travelling Potting Shed, I have a cunning plan. What better way for villains to prove they are in control of time than by producing a news article showing that we've already done it! And so, I lay before you, the plan to lay Siege to Dickens London.

The time portal to Dickens' London has been cleverly disguised as a Faire (the Dickens Faire, no less...the Doctor is clever is he not??) to be held at the Cow Palace in the wilds of Daly City, California, and will be open on five weekends from November 23 through December 23, 2012. Our ultimate goal is to have the League represented at all five weekends of the faire (We are proper villains after all...it's not a proper Siege if we don't hit all five weekends!!!)

So gather your villainous teams and choose wisely. Your mission is go through the portal to Dickens' London in your steampunkiest and villainous finest and stage a photograph with your group somewhere in the faire. Interact with the denisons of the docklands, convince Scrooge that he really doesn't need to listen to those ghosts. Sample the wares of the corset shop. Have a good romp at Fezziwig's or a drop of liquid gold at Mad Sal's and in general have a wonderful time, but don't forget to take your photographic devices so that we may publish our Siege of all five weekends in the Blackfriars Courant (along with your nefarious adventures of course). Publish your photos on facebook when you return through the portal.

For information on the entrance to the portal (including ticket prices...alas, the good doctor was not able to use the interossiter to get us in free...) please investigate the following link: http://dickensfair.com/

I look forward to seeing your photos...

This is Penny Dreadfulle, star reporter for the Blackfriars Courant, signing off.

Villains Secret Meeting ~ Christmas at the Kasbah

                This is Rose Teathyme.

As promised the Villains will hold another holiday meeting to celebrate the season and, well....ourselves!

This is Christmas at the Kasbah. We enjoyed the Lounge so much our last visit, we thought it only proper to use it as a location for another Secret Meeting and to have a holiday gift exchange. Bring a small gift (value not greater than $10) to exchange with your fellow Villains. Bring one, Exchange one.

The admins will hold a raffle as well as our gift to you! We have some wonderful things in store for you!

So join us for dinning and 'sin-tilating' company at the Kasbah.

Please note that this event is being held on the 3rd Wednesday of December.

Approximately every 2nd Wednesday of the Month, The League of Proper Villains will be holding a "Secret Meeting" at various pubs and resturants in the greater Sacramento Area. This is the Villains chance to meet in a casual setting, enjoy each others company, dress in Steamy Fashion or not depending on what you feel like.

Suggestions of pubs and resturants are welcome. Help us find great local places that have good happy hour food and drink menus. We would like a chance to visit different locations, to make it easier for more of you to attend meetings.
